Mike KinneyMike is responsible for managing operations and finance within VillageReach. In this capacity he keeps VillageReach operating smoothly, in compliance, and as cost effectively as possible. Mike manages all aspects of finance, budgeting, human resources, and grants management. Through his participation on the management team, he also contributes to the development of the organization’s strategic direction.
Previously, Mike spent 13 years at Microsoft in many capacities primarily in consulting, sales, and technology evangelism leadership roles. In these roles Mike developed and implemented many sales, marketing, and technology evangelism programs globally while developing a great respect, and aptitude, for solid execution.
Mike has a BSE in Computer Systems Engineering from Arizona State University, a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Washington, and obtained Washington State CPA credential.

Joy has extensive experience as a driver, having worked for 14 years with Save the Children USA. His responsibilities include: driving VillageReach staff and stakeholders, vehicle, mail delivery, and other official duties as assigned may by the authorities.
Joy has a Malawi Junior Certificate and PGD Driving License He has also attended defensive driving and first aid courses.

Stevie

Stevie joined VillageReach as a driver and office assistant in February 2013. Prior to joining VillageReach, Stevie worked with Gift Transport as a Senior Driver. Stevie holds a Malawi Junior Certificate and underwent a Defensive Driving Course. He is from Toleza village in Balaka.

GodfreyGodfrey joined VillageReach in March 2013 as a Driver and Office Assistant.  Prior to VillageReach, Godfrey worked  as a driver for Cilcon Construction Company for eight years.  Godfrey has a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), a Class CE Driving License, and underwent a Defensive Driving Certificate course.

ChrissieChrissie Katunga has worked as an administrative assistant since March 2010, and is responsible for providing secretarial, accounting and general office administration that includes stores management.

Chrissie has long experience in accounting work, having worked as a cashier at Comfort Clinic from 1997 to 2000, and accounts assistant with Prison Fellowship Malawi for 3 years from 2003 to 2006. She also worked as a stock controller at the National Small Holder Farmers Association of Malawi in 2007, as a matron at Bakhita Education Complex in 2007, and as a home craft worker with the Tiyende Women in Development Project from 2001-2002. Chrissie completed her certified accounting technician examination in June, 2008 at the Malawi College of Accountancy.

FannyFanny is responsible for managing the office finances and performing all administrative duties for the Pharmacy Assistants Program. Fanny comes to VillageReach with over six years of professional experience in both account management and secretarial work. She most recently worked as the secretary to the executive director at the Sue Ryder Foundation in Balaka. Fanny holds a Diploma in Management and Business Studies from the Malawi Polytechnic College and a Certificate in Business Computing from the Malawi College of Accountancy.

GertrudeGertrude joined VillageReach in April 2013 as an Office Assistant. Prior VillageReach, Gertrude worked as a Receptionist/Office Assistant for five years at Steel Works. Gertrude holds a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

Raimundo_AssaneRaimundo Assane joined VillageReach in March 2012 as a driver for Niassa Province. Raimundo is retired from the government, and has worked as a driver for DPS in Niassa from 1977 to 2012.

ferandoFernando joined VillageReach in June 2010 as a driver for Niassa Province. In 1988, Fernando made his first trip to Lichinga for business with his uncle, and received his Mozambique Professional Driver License. H e has since gained experience as a driver during his work for a construction company in Lichinga and Maputo.

katiaKatia Joao Balate joined VillageReach in November 2011 as an accountant. She is in her 4th year of accounting and auditing at ISCAM (Superior Institute of Accounting and Auditing of Mozambique). Katia has previously worked in the private sector in finance and administration for more than three years.

Cordelio

Cordélio José Mário da Graça Barrama joined VillageReach in February 2013 as the Administrative Assistant at the national office in Maputo. He holds a bachelor ‘s degree in Communication and Multimedia from ISCIM (Higher Institute of Communication and Image), and he is studying Financial Management and Banking at ISPU (the Polytechnic Institute) in Maputo. He has 4 years experience working as an Administrative Assistant at JEB (a local commercial company) where he worked in office management in general. At VillageReach, Cordélio is responsible for managing the office, including filing system management, correspondence management, office equipment management, procurement and logistics.

Gabriel_EduardoGabriel Eduardo joined VillageReach in June 2010 as a driver for the Niassa province. After serving in the military, Gabriel began his driving career in 1984 as a driver in the government. In 2004, Gabriel left the government to work as a driver in the private sector.

estevaoEstevao Raul Mabjaia joined VillageReach in August 2011 as Driver for Maputo Province. Estevão has had experience as a driver since 1975 and has worked for several companies in Mozambique and South Africa, transporting goods and people.

Estevao holds a Mozambican professional Driver License.

camiloCamilo Mussagy Hassane Mahomed joined VillageReach in November 2011 as a driver for Gaza Province. He worked at EMOSE as a Risk Management Assistant, and acquired experience as a driver during his work with Save the Children, ONUMOZ, and most recently, UNICEF. Camilo attended Commerce and Administration School in 1977.

NerciaNercia Mariana Matusse joined VillageReach as the Administrator for Niassa Province in 2012. She has worked for an organization based in Niassa called Community Club Links of Mozambique where her main task was to train project officers in project management and in measure and evaluation. She has also served as an executive secretary and office administrator at a lawyer’s office in Lichinga. Nercia has a diploma in Secretarial and Office Administration.

AmancioAmancio Simão Munguambe joined VillageReach in March 2012 as a driver in Gaza Province. Amancio was a driver for DPS in Gaza for 12 years. In 2010, he left DPS to gain experience driving for non-governmental organizations. Prior to VillageReach, he worked as a driver at Pathfinder International and ICAP, both in Gaza Province.

Rene_NhantumboRené Círlos Afonso Nhantumbo joined VillageReach as the Administrator at the national office in Maputo in 2011. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, and has been trained in teaching English. He brings significant experience of more than seven years in general organization administration and project management, having served as project administrator for a de-mining project in Mozambique and Zimbabwe, bank credit manager in Mozambique’s central provinces, and projects director for an American NGO in the central province of Manica. Prior to VillageReach, he most recently worked in administration and finance at Health Alliance International where in addition to managing administrative and finance operations, he trained and built the capacity of health system staff at the district level in financial management, human resources, procurement, logistics, planning, monitoring and evaluation, and in the process of decentralizing operations. His career has focused on community development and health projects based in the field, which has given him the opportunity to work in most districts of Mozambique. At VillageReach, Rene is responsible for all administrative and financial operations for the organization in Mozambique.

Jenesil BenitoJenesil manages VillageReach’s grants and contracts as well as VillageReach’s policies and procedures. Jenesil also provides operations support to the Health Systems Group.

Jenesil holds a BA in Political Science, with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies, from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining VillageReach, Jenesil served as the Projects and Office Manager at the United Nations Association – San Diego Chapter, where she developed and coordinated projects promoting the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. She also served as a research intern for the Fund for Peace in Washington, D.C., evaluating the potential for conflict in post-war Iraq. Jenesil has extensive volunteer experience, which includes time with the Somali Family Service of San Diego, the International Rescue Committee, and AfricaAid.

deneenDeneen performs accounting and support operations for the Seattle Office of VillageReach.  Prior to joining VillageReach, Deneen spent 11 years at Ignition Partners, a Venture Capital company based in Bellevue, WA, as the Accounting Manager.  In this position, she managed all aspects of the accounting for several of the venture funds and coordinated with external auditors in reporting to investors. Deneen has a BA in Accounting and a BA in Business Management, both from Whitworth University in Spokane and obtained Washington State CPA credentials.

Sandy is responsible for the execution and management of internal and external communications as well as supporting key leadership in all development and fundraising efforts. oliviaShe develops collateral, strategies and best practices to ensure cohesive branding and messaging across all communications channels serving a diversified audience of advocates, media, technical partners, grantors, individual donors and VillageReach employees. Sandy has over 15 years of experience in the field of communications in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Prior to VillageReach, she served as PR and Communications Director for several Seattle-based non-profit organizations in addition to honing her skills in corporate communications and marketing for global advertising agencies and clients, including Microsoft. Sandy holds a BA from University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication.

Olivia provides administrative and operational support to the VillageReach office. In 2005, Olivia founded the Tibetan oliviaOrphan Fund, an organization with the goal of reducing infant mortality rates in rural Tibet, after visiting the region on a school trip to China. Since then, she has spent time studying the role NGOs play in social activism in Bangalore, India and lived in Spain for six months to better her language skills. Olivia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, with minors in Spanish and Global Health, from the University of Washington Honors Program.
