Ron1.jpgAs the Technology Director and Group Lead, Information Systems Group, Ron is responsible for the vision and implementation of VillageReach’s information communications technology work, including VillageReach’s participation in the recently launched OpenLMIS initiative.  Ron has over twenty years of experience in information technology, encompassing software development, databases ranging from the workstation to very large scale enterprise level, and web-based systems and cloud-based services.  Ron has been responsible for leading teams of software developers and managing software projects in entrepreneurial startups, for-profit corporations, and nonprofit biotech and medical research organizations.  Most recently, Ron has worked with a number of research and public health organizations, including the Institute for Human Virology (IHV), IHV Nigeria, Samford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine and SightLife., with projects including patient medical records systems, and cloud-based systems for operating corneal eye banks in middle- and low-income countries.   Ron has an MS in Management Science from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, an MS in Computer Science from MIT, and a BS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington.

SarahAs Technology Manager in the Information Systems Group, Sarah is responsible for program and project management across VillageReach’s technology portfolio. Sarah works with VillageReach teams and partners to understand their needs, build relationships, and deliver innovative technology solutions to support program success.

Sarah brings over a decade of experience in business analysis, agile development, and product management in telecom,  social enterprises, non-profit, and government sectors. Her past projects include leading telecom projects in Europe and Africa, building collaboration tools for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grantees, developing new systems for Seattle Public Schools, and engineering OSS architecture at AT&T Wireless. Sarah has a B.S. in Computing Software Systems and graduate work in Public Policy and International Studies from the University of Washington.

TimoteoA native of Maputo City, Timóteo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management. His education and experience includes both technical computer science and practical use of information for decision-making. His career began as a Systems Analyst and Programmer at SisLog, a computer science company, which was followed by a position at the Commercial Union of Banks (UCB) in Maputo. Timóteo then switched to public health, working for the World Health Organization as a Data Analyst and Manager in Gaza Province. His worked focused on training, mentoring, and technical assistance for the provincial ministry of health (Direcção Provincial de Saúde). With a career firmly established in public health information systems, Timóteo then worked as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Pathfinder International in Gaza where he applied his skills to a project in infant survival and maternal health. At the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Timoteo used his skills to support the care and treatment for HIV-positive patients in Gaza Province. Anxious to return to Maputo City, continue to improve health in his country, and take on the challenges and constant learning in public health, Timóteo started as VillageReach’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in mid-2011. Based at VillageReach Mozambique in Maputo, he is responsible for managing the vrMIS logistics management information system, training users, system requirements development, testing, ensuring data quality, and building the capacity of our staff and partners to use information for decision-making.
